How to choose and optimize the edger roll’ material?
The edger rolls is generally made of cast steel and Adamite with static casting, which has remained unchanged for several decades.
In recent years, in order to improve the wear resistance of the rolls and save the time for replacing the edger rolls, the edger rolls’ material was changed to centrifugal casting double poured material on E3 and E4 stands. The core material is nodular cast iron and the shell material is high-chromium cast iron. The life time can be increased 1 time compared with Adamite rolls.
